I can't believe I got called in to work. There goes my chance to get afterparty tickets. Oh well. The beer/music will be enough, I think.

Get a plane to land in the middle of West Virginia and a concert ticket and you will. Otherwise, I'm going to be here hating how they canceled our show tonight.

UGH!!!!! Right now there are a lot of people wasted in a beautiful place in chicago listening to and experiencing an hour and a half of awesomenesssssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!
....And I'm in a parking lot in downtown phx.
Fuck man, :( anyone else about to take a rape shower after missing this?...u know, the one type of shower in the movies where the victim cries in a ball with all their clothes on in the shower...that's me in 30 minutes. Sigh.

Mark said...

Greatest show I've ever seen. Ever

Anonymous said...

really bummed I live in Pennsylvania and couldn't be there. I love you beexster et al. I know you're all felching each other right now and enjoying the shit out of it.

I had a great date with a good looking girl tonight though, so I'll count my night as a win anyway.

see you fuckers on monday, AND please BK, crank a dvd out of this, or at least get it on National Underground.

Bridgett said...

The show was fucking brilliant, Mr. Kelly. Awesome. Totally makes up for that bullshit earlier in the week. Oh yeah. Me and my boyfriend got in line at 3 pm, and were number 103 in line for the LP. Talk about lame. Fucking line cutters and kids that got 2 copies. End complaint now. Whoo!

Joseph Belknap said...

The show was great, but yeah, lots of line cutters and cheaters ruined the whole 7" give away. I showed up a few hours early just to watch at least three seperate pairs of kids cheat their way into getting several copies of the record. When I went to move my car (since I had no reason to be so early at that point), I watched one kid indivually wrap five of the records in carboard shipping envelopes. Bullshit.
Of course, this is totally out of LA's control, and wathing them play 30 or so songs was pretty great.

Ted Yang said...

If someone had bought me a plane ticket, I might have been willing to punch one of those kids in the face for being greedy pieces of shit.

I'm still willing to work something out.

Ez90 said...

Definitely an amazing show. I am glad that I got to experience it! I wasn't early enough to get a vinyl, but I did get a poster. Here is to another ten years!!!!

Unknown said...

Sounds like the vinyl was good intentions ruined by greedy fuckers. Sigh. What can you do? Like someone said, it was out of TLA's hands. But such a limited number and a full house creates the perfect storm of greedy little assholes.

This DVD better be awesome and widely available (eg. NOT limited to 5 copies), because the emotional pain of missing this show is almost worse than the physical pain of my surgery. Also, I'd love to see what the set list ended up being.

Mark said...

The DVD crew put their camera on me when I was standing in line. Had no idea what to say, so whatever I said was pretty lame. Doubt it will make the final cut. I got a piece of paper that said "A DVD of tonights show will be available for purchase. Visit Crankstrap productions on facebook to check out a preview soon"

James said...

Any one have the setlist? Mr Kelly could you be so kind as to share...

I was surprised at how much Greatest Story they played and how little Apathy they did. About lost it when Wishful Puppeteer started though.

J.A.F. said...

man, i haven't had that feeling at a show for a long time. such a great time.

i've also never been literally kicked in the head SO hard twice in one night before. i feel like i played a football game or something this morning. it's all good.

thank you lawrence arms

Joe said...

I got too drunk and left my purple vinyl in a cab. Or maybe at mcdonalds

Anonymous said...

I'm with ya, J.A.F. on having that "feeling" at a show for the first time in a long time. Hard to explain, but after seeing the arms an awful lot in the past 8 years something about this show brought back all those wonderful memories. Also helped add to the emotional impact that BK choked up so many times. Great times.

Mark said...

Lets not forget Nutz Nutz, We Want Nutz

Candice said...

Last night was amazing! Like a dipshit I fell twice and lost my poster in a cab.

Thank you Brendan for dealing with my antics and signing my ass.

I love you.

Unknown said...

Fucking Epic. My chest is black and blue from being pushed up against the rail so many times by a fat chick, but that's the price you'll pay I suppose.

Congratulations on ten, wonderful fucking years!

Robb said...

goddamnit...today I woke up with easily one of the top five worst hangovers I've ever dealt with, but no--not from getting plastered celebrating ten years' worth of tla...from getting plastered at a wedding and then Sweet Dreams karaoke bar in Panama City beach. Now, don't get me wrong, Sweet Dreams is a VERY fun joint. But jesus christ.

Anyone witness the Candice ass signing? I'm sure that was epic

Robb said...

Oh and fuck those deceitful little multiple-vinyl receiving assclowns. I'm sure at least one of them was named "Corey". Tie your fucking shoes, Corey.

Nina said...

last night absolutely ripped. thank you

Robb said...

O and excuse me, kid who individually wrapped five of the vinyls into little shipping envelopes - I'm going to make it a priority in life to hunt you down and tickle your lil' nutsack in a public place - not in a gay boy way, just an utter humiliation/domination way. Just lettin ya know.

Candice said...

There were pictures taken Robb. I'll post them on isshefilthy

Robb said...

hellz yea baby gurl juss hit me up on my iPhone and send that shit directly by bluetoof to my iPhone n shit

Robb said...

Whoa my post was creepily soon after yours. Sorry about that. Yeah post that shit somewhere for sure though

Robb said...

Oh and balls yo, congrats on typing literally the funniest thing ever typed in the sock drawer. The rape shower thing. It was even funnier than the things Nina says

Anonymous said...

it was so crowded last night that i didn't even attempt to go to the merch room.

does anyone have a size medium suicide king shirt (white on black) that they'd sell me?

lemme know!

ps. best. show. ever.

Anonymous said...

Im in the same boat as the poster above me. anyone have an extra poster they would like to sell? or at least a link to a pic of the poster? Epic show!

planespotting said...

@Uptownfreeradio - thanks for posting the setlist for those of us unable to make it ...

Wayne Michael said...

Show was awesome. I thought this was my one chance to maybe hear corpses of our motivations live, but i got to hear the bass line to nuts nuts we want nuts so that was cool. I'm sure the after party was amazing, I could have gotten in line early as I was at my sisters apt all day which is right around the corner but I had to make the hard decision to ignore the line until it was obviously too long as I had to drive 8 hrs at the ass crack of dawn. If I had actually gone to it I would have either missed work in addition to pissing off my wife or driven my car into someones porch at 6 am. I was, however, dissapointed to not see any drunken hangers on from the night before not stumbling around my car when i left this morning. All in all in was a great show, besides I got fucked up enough and had a crazy enough time at the new years show last year to make up for just chillin this time.

Unknown said...

Robb, thanks, sounds like we were both having an equally awesome time missing the show!
u got wasted at a wedding, and i got wasted in an alley behind a restaurant where i work...i told the owner where i work a story of when i was beer bonging Red Dog out of 2 story beer bong and my friends put mineral oil in...i shit my pants at work the next day. The best part of telling the story is how he didnt laugh and i did.

Glen said...

Holy shit, there aren't even words to express how fucking amazing and epic that show was, my ears are still ringing and have no voice as it should be. Flew in all the way from Jersey and met my buddy from Virginia - man totally worth every penny.

This will be the comparison to every show I attend and nothing will ever come close, except the 20th anniversary show! how sick would that be?

It really looked like they were having so much fun up there and just soaking it all in. btw how was the afterparty? wish i was there.

Best show ever. thanks guys you fuckin rule. Recover as one!

Steve Jones said...

Yeah great show. I was also surprised that there were not very many apathy tunes. Still had a great time. I was sitting at a table right next to BK at the after party and got a nice view if Candice getting her ass signed. Fucking epic. Lol

Ted Yang said...

I'm so happy they did 106 South. I also am really happy that they did Chapter 13 and Ramblin' Boys. Other than, That set list makes me care less that I thought "I'm not going to vote, I'll let the people that will actually see this vote and get what they want" only to realize I could have voted for what songs I wanted on a DVD.

Glen said...

ha i guess candices ass signing was the hilite of the party lol

True would have been cool to hear a couple more from apathy but still good mix overall i thought. Yeah wasn't expecting 106 south but great.

Don't think 1 more vote would have mattered all that much anyway. Did BK say they used the votes at all or did they just play whatever they wanted?

Sean said...

I was the fuck in the Orange Miami shirt against the rail in front of Brendan, desperately trying to blow him from a distance.

Some fat chick BIT my friend on the neck in the pit... like... what the fuck. haha

Anyways, that was a sick-ass show, i'd even go as far as to call it "tits."

But not "Candice's tits," since I actually met her at the show and realized I creep her out enough for her to block me lol

Speaking of creeping out...

- Candice, when are you gunna post pictures you took at the show... I wanna set that pic of us as my default/poster over my bed. thanks toots.

rape shower, best way to describe how i felt, ever.

congratulations to those who attended the most important show of this decade, and nice to know you played "pensacola", now i need some money, a visa, a plane ticket buenos aires-chicago and of course a time machine(i would also use it for traveling to the medieval ages and yell "horses? haven't you retards heard of cars?!?!?".

Unknown said...

man, i wish i could've been there for this. at least i'll get a dvd.

Ted Yang said...

So that Buttsweat thing-a-ma-jig sounds pretty erotic and pleasing. I hear Amazon has it.

Mikey said...

So...Buttsweat is out on amazon a day early it seems.

of course, I can't buy it because I'm Canadian but just thought I'd let you lucky people know :(

Mikey said...

NVM my complaining. This is wicked.

Robb said...

Hell yeah, just downloaded.

Unknown said...

while candice's butt signing sounds awesome, i have to say the hilite of the show was getting a handjob from a stranger while watching larry arms rock out! thanks to the band for inspiring awesome behavior! can't wait for the next show!

Nina said...

Robb - you're a nerd

Candice said...

Just wanna make it clear that I wasn't the stranger giving the handjob.

Unknown said...

Awesome show. Too bad some drunk fratboy near me decided that I didn't know who you guys were and didn't deserve to be there for some reason. Some people.

Unknown said...

@candice.. no, it wasn't you, though I wouldn't have minded that one bit!

MOG said...

As I read through these comments I cry for two reasons. 1) the show sounds impossibly awesome 2) it disgusts me that all of you internet nerds use the word "epic" as if it is the most clever thing you've ever typed.

Dorks.

Anonymous said...

I do believe Captain Murdock woke up on the wrong side of my EPIC COCK this morning.

MOG said...

Is that the side that oozes bloody puss like a salivating stroke victim or is it the semi flaccid side that never reaches full firmness unless you're secretly reliving that stormy night when Uncle Walter slowly crept into your room and made you bite the pillow?

Anonymous said...

Oh the headache I had on Sunday. Man, I can't do Miller Lite at all. Ugh. Regardless it was an AMAZING show. Can't wait to fill in some of the blanks by watching the DVD, heh.

Glen said...

capt murdock don't be so bitter. And really you are crying because people used the word epic? i feel bad for you, especially that you missed that show. So what would you have preferred synonyms like astronomic, colossal, monumental, prodigious? would that have made us cool enough for you? who fuckin cares bro

J.A.F. said...

let's be honest, using the word epic is really stupid.

Jayzilla said...

thanks dude -- the show was awesome!!

Glen said...

Please regale us as to why it is stupid? Epic - extending beyond the usual or ordinary especially in size or scope (do you not think that was true?)

Ok just arguing about this is so damn retarded, people will always find something gay to complain about. i'm done.

FranklinStein said...

Brendan, getting my filthy paws around your tight ass 4 times was EPIC.

--the nudes will come in due time.

Gnaw said...

Murdock: That was the most brutal comeback ever. Poor haggis never even saw it coming, his dick will never operate functionally again.

Gregory said...

downloaded the ep. sitting in the library though so can't jam it yet. i wonder why fat never did a pre-order....it comes out tomorrow and it still cannot be purchased.

J.A.F. said...

the word "epic" is stupid because it became an internet phenomenon and there's nothing cool about internet phenomenons.

another stupid thing: using the word "gay" and meaning "stupid."

MOG said...

Glen: There would be no need for prodigious but I wouldn't mind it and it certainly would be have made you cool enough for me. I guess a simple rad, gnarly, awesome, cool or even boss would suffice.

Things just get a lil' too deep into the realm of Heston when the term epic gets thrown around too loosely. So unless I didn't get all the appropriate information about the show and there wasn't a group séance that brought Heston back from the cold embrace of the tomb only to ascend (I use ascend because a dude this awesome had to end up in hell) onto the stage of the Metro at which point he began doing that Vanilla Ice dance while TLA provided the backing of 'Go Ninja Go Ninja Go' which culminated in him fellating a man who was dressed up as Krang (it would later be determined that the man was Mike Park) all before heading back to the underworld then I don't really see how any show could be called epic.

Just my humble opinion.

Robb said...

I openly admit the lameness of epic yet still catch myself using it all too often.

Krang? Didn't expect to read that name this morning. I guess my one complaint is you sort of fused the separate mythologies of the films and original cartoon there. But it works.

Scott Juniper. said...

It's Monday, I want my BIG news from BK...

Glen said...

that is too funny man. I respect your humble opinion, but regardless i would still call the show epic "for me." Maybe it is a bit sad that this was the best show i have ever been to and thats what makes it epic (in my definition) - basically i now care a little less about everything else in my life now. that is my opinion.

and so sorry JAF (aka internet guru) i should have used the word stupid and not gay

MOG said...

Well I felt as if I could take a few liberties but I do agree that as a general rule of thumb the two canons should remain separate.

KypPineapple said...

Holy fuck, Capt Murdock wins for best fucking comebacks/scenarios of all time.

That Heston rant nearly had me on the floor.

Also, as someone else who wasn't at the show, be as cranky as you fucking want, dude. I understand your pain.

Robb said...

Nina - is that a brilliant ironic jab? Or have you done that thing where you place blog comments into hierarchies of nerdiness? Is that breed of dog an accurate barometer of how fun you are to be around? Do you love any canned drink with lightning bolts on the label? Is this an emerging pattern of rhetorical questions to which I purport to already know the answers?

Robb said...

...But yes. Huge nerd

Scott Juniper. said...

you all have giant internet dicks.

Steele said...

Holy Fuck, I've seen TLA around
20x and Saturday was amazing! Here's to another 10 years ya'll.

Gnaw said...

Wow, never thought I would picture Mike Park getting fellated. Thanks Murdock!

Robb said...

Well this isn't how I envisioned Monday! I hoped for a fresh entry so I could thank Kelly for giving us 'The Redness in the West', and say how joyous I am that "the one cool song with the 'fuck you--you're cool...' line" also contains Cormac McCarthy reference(s). Instead I accomplished only Krang kudos and a disproportionately clever comeback to a shitty insult.

Sean said...

He epically played demons and the redness in the west @the epically epic cafe 11 show last spring acoustically. The later sounds epic acoustically.

Ted Yang said...

Funniest lyrics on Buttsweat:

"And I said some creepy things and I staggered around"

"Fuck you, you're cool, fuck you too"

Also, Fat's got colored pre-order - holy fuck! I just pre-orded from VC last night. Now I have one colored and one not.

Go, Dogs of War, Go!
